ABOUT US

Jaeger Sport Horses is located just outside of Lexington Kentucky. We offer lessons from intermediate to Grand Prix and develop horses of all ages. Our approach has proven successful with our young horses going onto win their local and state Eq. Finals, place and compete at Junior Hunter Finals, and jump Grand Prix tracks. We also are dedicated to helping riders learn and grow in their riding career. Our focus on horsemanship and attention to detail ensure each horse is well cared for and able to thrive in their environment.

Lyriss Jaeger was brought to the barn at just five days old where her mother rode horses in Miami, Florida.  When she was eight, her family moved to Colorado where she began competing in hunter/jumpers on various horses, many of them Thoroughbreds. Through her junior career she won numerous CHJA and USEF level awards including CHJA Junior Rider of the Year, USEF Small Junior Hunter Champion, as well as the Sportsmanship Award during CHJA Medal Finals. Lyriss also explored dressage lessons as a junior and continues to acquire more knowledge of the discipline.

Lyriss moved to Kentucky and has been showing on the East coast including WEF, WEC, and Capital Challenge. She has proven she has an eye for young talent, successfully finding and producing versatile young horses competitive in all three rings as well as several fence jumping escape artists! She completed her first Grand Prix on a horse she carefully developed from the start of his 4 year old year. She has also worked as an assistant trainer and rider for various farms around the country before branching out on her own.

Being level headed, compassionate, and patient, Lyriss is dedicated to producing horses who are ridable and eager to please. She also enjoys teaching riders, helping them develop and achieve their goals no matter the size.
In 2018, JSH started a boutique breeding program after Lyriss worked  with Thoroughbred foals and yearlings getting them prepared for Fasig Tipton Sales. This experience continued to expand her knowledge of young horses and only further her love of them. JSH is intent on producing quality horses for the future. Her philosophy on horses is that, while our teammates, they need to be able to be horses as much as possible.
